No Kirkland brand liquors in TX

So I just learned today that the Kirkland brand liquors are not allowed to be sold in the state of TX because of the liquor laws. I was disappointed because I was hoping to grab some vodka and tequila for the holidays on the cheap.
Are there any other states where this isn't allowed? Seems like a petty liquor license issue to me.

What is the stupid reasoning behind this?
I'm sure someone paid off some politicians to make this happen, but it still seems strange.

I'm guessing it's because liquor can't be sold in grocery stores in Texas?

It stems from Texas' blue laws. No publicly traded company may sell liquor. All the liquor stores at costcos in Texas are actually WB Liquors.

Surely it's something you couldn't comprehend.

I'm sure we will get by with the thousands of other brands at total wine and specs

This is what the lady at the store explained to me. She said it was only a matter of time before the laws would be changed. We'll see.
I did head straight to specs afterwards. I just think the Kirkland brands are the best bang for your buck (except for the bourbon, it's terrible).

Costco I thought had a "liquor" store separate from the main store on Richmond that anyone, even non members, could access, I'm surprised but can tell you they definitely aren't available here but Kirkland wine is.

This is correct. They had a liquor store attached, but it was very small and had a somewhat terrible selection. Spec's and Total Wine blow it completely out of the water.
I lived in NOLA before I moved out to Dallas and they always had the Kirkland brand liquors readily available. Is this not the case in the BR location?

I saw a bottle of wine at Costco yesterday for $9.75 that is normally $16.50 elsewhere.
Also, the Kirkland Vodka for $13 is a steal.
The gin & whisky are meh.

Don't know if there are trader Joe's in Texas but their store band liquor is good on the cheap

Kirkland blended scotch is shockingly good for the price
19.99 vs 29.99 for famous grouse
I made the switch to Kirkland for everyday scotch
