I went for the second time this past week. Not overly impressed, I prefer Ruths and Does over it in BR and probably 8 steakhouses in NO. What are the Stab's fans ordering that I need to try?
Also, the service was average.

I’ve went twice. The first time was just okay. The second time was terrible. I won’t be back. The ribeyes were grey. No sear at all.

Their short ribs are good but outrageously overpriced.

Still not sure how Stab's has lasted this long. Everyone I hear that goes says it's not that great. I guess once everyone has given it a whirl and doesn't keep returning, it'll close.

The original in Central has always been better in my opinion. The general manager there is a really nice guy and super on top of stuff. I’d go in a lot of times just to say hey to him. But it’s been quite a while since I’ve been in either one. Can’t justify spending that much money on entrees that I can make better at my home for half the price or even less.

Well, if it is not better than pedestrian Doe's, it's probably not worth trying out for me.

Thanks for the tip.

It's lasted this long because the owner has a bottomless checkbook.

My grandma is probably the least picky person on the planet. She simply does not bitch when it comes to food and restaurants. However, she’s gone to stabs 3 times and hasn’t had a single good thing to say.

It’s the first restaurant I’ve ever heard her say she’ll never return to.

I was going to post the same. Nobody has told me its bad, but they've all said it isn't great.

I do know their bar food is $5 during happy hour, which is pretty good.

I went once. It was way too expensive for the food we were served. I can do much better at home, and it was nowhere near as good as Ruth's Chris.
The owner makes his real money in disaster relief food, so maybe this is just a tax write off. The place seems to draw a crowd though. First and second timers?

It won't close anytime soon because Wayne Stabiler must save face. He'll be paying for Stab's Prime for a long time.

I think you are right. He is an arrogant man, he will tell everybody how well it is doing while it slowly bleeds cash. But yea, he dropped a ton in it and will be paying for a long time.

It is not bad but for the price, there are way better options for steak. Jacmel Inn in Hammond has been my go to as of late for a good steak.

That's not even his only restaurant in that area bleeding cash. Palermo's didn't have near the renovation work or have near the same overhead but operationally, I don't see how it's open either.

Here's another thought, and I said this before. They should have went with a different name to distinguish it from the Stab's in Central. Stab's Prime doesn't cut it. I knew this was a huge mistake from the beginning. People refer to both locations as Stab's but they offer a different price point and dining experience.

Way too expensive for what you get. My wife and I got a few drinks and 3 apps.... 150 bucks. Ridiculous.

If im spending that kind of money, id much rather go to Ruths.... or my backyard
