Oxlot 9 In Covington closing/relocating

They posted on their instagrm that would be out of the southern hotel location soon, so we booked a dinner last friday night. Great as always
I asked while we were they and they were somewhat tight lipped about where they were going.
Surely someone on here has some insight into a new location(not the one is BSL)

Terrible news. Great restaurant in an area that is limited of fine dining locations

They're moving to a new location. It will be in Covington. The hotel was jacking them around on some things and I think enough was enough. I've been told they will keep the name regardless of where they open up. It may be a bit until they find right location as this wasn't exactly a move that had been planned for a while.

Anyone know what is going in that spot? I assume that kind of hotel would have a nice restaurant in it.

When is that Greyhound gastropub supposed to open?

I hope Jeffery spends some time in the BSL location in between Covington locations…seems like he’s been gone for a bit.

I imagine the hotel is scrambling to fill in the vacancy.

He'll be around especially Smoke right there next door.

I need to stop in for the chicken sandwich next time I'm over there. The covington location wasn't far from me. The BBQ never blew me away, but I did like the chicken sandwich.

Sounds like Dakota throwing their money and established power in the area around to squeeze out OL
I got the feeling OxLot said it was done before Dakota approached.
Chef at OxLot wanted to just have dinner service. The hotel was pushing lunch, brunch, wedding catering, etc... and I think the chef/owner just said "no mas"

Strange that he would open Smoke and Thorny Oyster in another hotel, I guess that’s more on his terms though.

I think he liked being in a spot with easy access to potential diners in downtown/main st. locations. I imagine he was fine with the arrangement until recently when the hotel presumably kept pressing more demands and/or $$$ for rent.

Pretty sure Dakota is NOT going into that hotel.
Discussions have been had with someone from one of the Brennan’s (not sure which group) and Donald Link.
