Anyone ever tried this? I have had the ingredients for a month or more and may do it tomorrow.
Seems simple enough with just three ingredients - I will add a fourth with some cinnamon sprinkled over it.
Ingredients
1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches in heavy syrup, undrained
1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter, sliced into pats, or more if needed
Process is easy
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with margarine.
2) Pour peaches and heavy syrup into the prepared baking dish. Spread cake mix evenly over peaches. Arrange butter pats in even rows on the cake mix.
3) Bake in the preheated oven until top of cake is golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes.
I love peach cobbler and think this should be similar and don't see any way it could be inedible.

Yep, stuff is good! I make it in my ditch oven all the time

I'd eat it but I would hope the hostess called it something else.

I prefer the cherry dump cake. I add chopped pecans on top as my 4th ingredient. It is at the top of my list for easy desserts, and people love it.

Yeah the person who originally told me about says she always keeps the ingredients on hand for guests that might show up. The peaches and cake mix will pretty much last forever.
Pecans sound good. Maybe I will have five ingredients when I do mine if I go back to the store.

Fix them all the time when I need a last minute dessert for a potluck or get-together.
Two things I change:
- I usually do apple or cherry. Apple tends to go over better when it comes to picky eaters.
- I sprinkle chopped pecans on top after the butter.

When I do cherry, I sometimes add pineapple. Always pecans.

I do not bake very often - mainly chicken wings and bacon but this has given me an idea. I think part of my contribution to Thanksgiving dinner this year will be peach, cherry and apple dump cakes.
