Same. A friend went to their soft opening and tagged them, first I had heard of the place. Menu looks good, the space they’re in is a graveyard though.

Like I said they were swamped and they haven’t even done any marketing or anything. So some word of mouth must be getting out.

It’s just open AI.

You can use it to write pretty much anything.

Freret Street's restaurant row is known for its vibrant culinary scene and bustling atmosphere. Among the various establishments that line this popular street, the strip mall stands out as a great location. It offers a prime spot for businesses, attracting a steady stream of customers and benefiting from the dynamic energy of the area.

One notable business that once thrived in this strip mall was a gelateria. A gelateria is an establishment specializing in making and selling gelato, a delightful Italian frozen dessert. The gelateria became a beloved part of the local community, drawing in residents and visitors alike with its delicious treats and charming ambiance.

However, despite its initial success, the gelateria faced a significant challenge. The strip mall's building owners, unfortunately, exhibited slumlord behavior. A slumlord is a term used to describe a property owner who neglects their responsibilities to maintain and improve their buildings, often resulting in poor living or working conditions.

In this case, the slumlord building owners failed to adequately maintain the strip mall. The infrastructure deteriorated, and issues such as leaks, electrical problems, and structural deficiencies began to plague the building. These conditions posed serious challenges to businesses like the gelateria, impacting their ability to operate effectively and provide a pleasant experience for customers.

As a result, the gelateria was eventually forced to close its doors and relocate. The slumlord building owners' negligence and lack of investment in the strip mall directly contributed to the downfall of the gelateria and, potentially, other businesses in the vicinity.

It is disheartening when successful establishments like the gelateria are pushed out due to the actions or inactions of irresponsible building owners. Their failure to maintain the property not only affects individual businesses but also undermines the overall appeal and economic viability of the entire area.

Despite this setback, it is important to recognize the strip mall's potential and the opportunities it presents for future businesses. Efforts to address the issues caused by slumlords, such as improved regulations and enforcement, can help ensure a more sustainable and thriving environment for businesses along Freret Street's restaurant row.

With the exception of The Business Bar which proceeded Pigeon and Whale, I think the problem with the location lies with the landlord and not the product.

Edit: everyone beating me to the punch in this thread. Great write up from LesterGPT there

Well, the landlords of that place will have them moving out in about a year, but we'll see where they land afterwards.

If it's Delachaise/Chais Delachaise behind it then the mussels make sense. That's their signature dish

Wrong group.

The owner ran Superior Seafood and is with the group that owns Station 6.

Can't recall his name. Came around to the table to speak with everyone. Really nice guy.

Food was great, so was the service.

I'm pulling for him.

That makes more sense. It didn't really have the look of something the Delachaise people would do.

You read Lester's post and thought it was from a human instead of AI? That says a lot.
