How did Bern’s not make the final 4?

Not sure because it is fantastic as well.

Wouldn’t vote for a Doe’s if my life depended on it.
I took my dad to the one in BR for a steak during his cancer treatments. We had to be back for more treatment in two hours.
I ordered a steak medium; and, forty-five minutes later, it came back dry and well-done. When I pointed this out, I was told they could cook another one correctly; but it would take another forty-five minutes.
I explained we didn’t have the time because of my dad’s treatment schedule. They basically responded with a “take it or leave it” attitude. No effort was made to provide even a partial discount. So, it was sixty bucks for a steak that was poorly cooked and not even close to how I ordered it.
Not long ago, I heard one of the owners talking about how important customer service was to them. I found it laughable.

Does has good meat, but they do a horrible job at searing their steaks.
That said, the tamales are legit.

I am talking about the one in Greenville Me Happy. The original location.

I don’t know Doe or Doe Steakhouse or Greenville so how could I in good conscience do so?

Hahaha. Well let your conscience be your guide!

I have eaten at the BR location many times. Never had a bad experience and our steaks always come out med rare like we order.

Done. One of the most memorable meals of my life. The Greenville location is a national landmark.

I’m too late to vote but noticed Pat’s in Louisville made it to the final four. That place is legit. It’s really good. Never eaten at the doe’s in question but the one in Monroe is solid.

Greenville is worth at least one trip. I see people from Monroe at the Greenville Does pretty often.

I’ll try and make it sometime.

Doe’s beat Perini Steak House in Buffalo Gap.
Never been to Doe’s but Perini is one of the best steak’s I’ve ever had. Place is rustic as can be and absolutely amazing.
Folk’s Folly here in Memphis is great as well.

If, on one of those trips, your steak would have been grossly overcooked (as mine had been); and you had no way to wait the 45-60 minutes required to get another one cooked, would you have thought some compensation fair on a $60 steak? I suspect you would.
I wasn’t asking for a free meal, just some reasonable fairness, when what I got was a “take it or leave it attitude.” They didn’t seem to care about my business, so they’ve never gotten it again.

Doe's lost to Bones in the semis.
Surprised HD Gibbes and Moon's Grocery weren't in the running - not sure if Moon's is still open
