One of the original owners of the chain has bought the 4 stores in Baton Rouge and Monroe. He has all of the original recepies and the quality and service should pick up soon. Might want to give it a try...some of the world's greatest baked beans.

I hope some improvements are made. Back in the 80s this place was really good. After a long absence I tried the place again. The place was really dirty and had run down feel.

I go to the one in Shreveport quite a bit. The last few times I've been in there, they weren't terribly busy and the employees were very friendly and talked to me about all kinds of things.

He just closed the sale this month.Maybe it'll bounce back. He's working toward buying back other stores, but these are the only 4 he has at this time.

the Benton Road local is good, and the last time i went to s'port/barksdale hwy it was decent. Potato salad is great, so are beans, mac n cheese, slaw as sides.

I go to the Mansfield Road one when I'm in town since my parents live over on that side of town. Pretty much everything has gone to shite out that way but its good service in there.

Haven't eaten at one in a while. Used to have the best baked beans in the world. I would go there just for them. Wish him good luck and hope that he keeps the original bean recipe.

When I moved to BR I thought I had found a replacement for Luther's as the worst BBQ commercially available.
I will wait a few months then give the one on Sherwood a try, but the sauce used to be awful.

Funny how opinions vary. I think Podnuh's food is bland and just plain terrible.

i think his point was that the original owners are taking it back over, and with that come the original recipes, etc.

the padnuhs in Monroe and West Monroe were flat out filthy when I moved away....the one on Louisville Ave actually closed down about that time.....Danken Trail is much better....

The owner of Dankin Trail learned the business as an emploee of the creators of Padnuhs. The stores just purchased should be in great shape soon.
