What are some locations for these..when I worked in Alexandria, we used to always get Popeye breakfast. I can't seem to find any down here around br/Gonzales area...

In the late 70's and through the 80's, all of the Popeye's I know of (at least the ones in Metry), served awesome breafast- all I ever got was the chicken biscuits, which were 100 times better than anything being served at the time at McDonalds, Wendy's, BK, etc.
Sometime in the late 80's, it ended, and I have not seen a Popeye's in the NOLA area do breakfast ever since.
In the last 25 years, the only times I've seen Popeye's doing breakfast (and I got a chicken bisuit every time) was in airport's- Moisant (now closed), Bush in Houston, and DFW.

Yup, their chicken biscuit was awesome.
Now a days, when I have that mood, I get one from CFA or some chickn' minis.
Also, Whataburger has a legit honey butter chicken biscuit.
Side note: We need Whataburger in NOLA.

The chicken biscuits are awesome...and couldn't believe they had a platter of grits eggs bacon and biscuit for $5..or at least in Alexandria they did..

Worth the trip to Gonzales if you really need it?

Don't tempt me. LOL- I might.
Is the one n Gonzales the closest Whataburger to NOLA?

Yes. It's on Airline Highway at Church Point Road, right next to a drive-through daiquiri shop, an illegal immigrant hot spot Mexican place, and a Wendy's. Next closest are in Bay St. Louis, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.

I won't go just for that, but I do make a stop if I'm in the area anyways.
