Dipping Sauce...yep...for crawfish.
I learned this trick over twenty years ago from some EP coonasses. It's addictive.
Pour a few ounces of white vinegar in a small bowl. Hit it with several shots of your favorite hot sauce (I use Crystal or Trappey's Red Bull). Mix and drag a tail through it. As said above, it's addictive. Can be a life saver if your host is a shitty boiler, too.

Well here goes, I'm sure I'll get some hate but my sauce is mayo based. More mayo than ketchup, so it's pinkish, not red.
Mayo
Horseradish sauce
Sriracha
Ketchup
Worcestershire
Tony's (if needed)

That's what I see from Laffy folk. Here's mine...for any type of seafood:
World's Greatest Cocktail Sauce
Equal parts of catsup and chili sauce(use Heinz) we'll do 6 oz each for today's example
2 T of horseradish, or more, to taste
Juice of half a lemon
Dash of garlic powder
1 to 2 T of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 T Tony's
Mix, taste and adjust. I use more horseradish for oysters, and fresh, homemade is best.

Sauce is a must when my father in law boils. Refuses to use powdered boil because of "too much salt" yet he'll down a bag of chips with no issues.
I like a Canes-like sauce for his shitty crawfish. Mayo, ketchup, garlic salt, black pepper and Worc sauce. I usually add some hot sauce too

Powdered crab boil is in truth the new kid on the block. Zats was making crab boil in a bag over one hundred plus years ago, as to when they started making liquid boil I am unsure, but again before powder was imagined and yes it contains far too much salt.

Who dips their crawfish in sauce? I just focus on eating and don't have time to worry about sauces.
