What kind of bread is that?
Took the wife there after the Bucktown Seafood Fest last night, and the po boys were good, but the bread was different .. had seeds on it. Was warm and crunchy tho, so i liked it.
Anybody know where they get their bread from? ( i know, i shoulda asked, but i didn't think about it till this morning after i sobered up)

Is it St Joseph's bread like you get at Dorignacs?

It's more or less a smaller version of French bread with seeds - whatever that is!

It's gendusa French bread. I think I could spare some loaves if you ever wanted. You'd have to drive to Prairieville, but its much closer than New Orleans.

I think this. My wife's mother buys it.
that fricking place brings a tear to my eye every time I come in from Chicago. Straight from the airport; whole shrimp po-boy dressed. Cup of Gumbo, Abita.
ooooo hell yes

No its definitely not the same as the bread from Dorginac's. Dorginac's bread is lighter (in color), has no seeds on the crust, and is much more doughy. The stuff R&O's uses is darker, has seeds, and is more fluffy.

Thank God, when I saw an R&O thread I figured it was someone from BR complaining that the waitresses were rude and it was overrated.
Yep, Italian bread, that place is a treasure.

The bakery that bakes the bread is owned by one of the owner's fathers; They were located on St. Bernard Ave near Claiborne before Katrina by the Circle Food Store. Not sure where they relocated?

maybe you should just buy advertising so that this site can remain free.

You must be in sales.
It's something I haven't had the opportunity to do yet, but as soon as finances allow I'm sure I'll look into it. In the meantime, I would still love to be an occasional poster.
