Taking over the revolving door spot on 21 next to Cafe du Monde. Anyone have any info on it? Google search coming up with nothing.

Just saw this place yesterday, doesn't seem like it's a chain. Wonder if it will last, I remember going to this place when it was Jerk's Island Grill, then it turned into 2 other restaurants since then.

Jerks was decent, but the real gem was Baco Bar. That place was doing very well, but then sadly the owner died of cancer. It would still be there today if not for that.

Pyre was next in that spot, but that was overpriced average BBQ. They moved to a different location. I tend to think they were not doing well due to their food and pricing, but they believed it was location. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm down to check out Redbird. Good fried chicken is hard to come by nowadays.

Baco Bar grew to be one of my favorite restaurants in Covington. Consistent and good.

100%. When it first opened we weren't much of a fan, but we gave it another try after they settled in. We were hooked ever since. Those daiquiris were !

The owner was in his 30s with two kids I believe when he died. Incredibly sad

I saw it passing by a few weeks ago. Isn’t the logo on the sign the same as on the link below? The other location is in the Philippines? Different company?

The Wife and I passed by earlier today, and saw it for the first time. We both remember the logo being a Rooster Head.

When I searched it in the car... I kept popping up the Philippines one, you direct to with that link, nolanola.

I could not find anything that directed to them, even with the Yelp links that came up.

They did open today from a friend who ate there today. No word on how it was. I will check it out soon. No clue on menu options, etc.

Very strange that they have no Facebook or Yelp pages this late in the process. You would figure that would come early to help promote the business.

We are here now.
I got some pics, including menu… I will have to see if I can upload them for a URL and post here.

Ordering is done digitally, at 1 of 3 kiosks, unless you pay in cash.

Drinks refill for free, if you bring your branded cup back.

You sit and wait for your name to be called, and they bring your food over.

Couldn’t get the images to post, but the link appears to work for all 4.
Let me know if it works …I can retry, if needed:

4 Red Bird Pictures

BTW:
The chicken was spicy & the strips seemed even spicier.
I would call it a Country Style Fried Chicken, but not sure if that means the same to everyone.

The sides were good.

There are 6 dipping sauces in dispensers, with the little paper cups.
(Honey Mustard, Ranch, BBQ, Special , Asian Spice, & Buffalo)… I think I remembered them all right..?..

Did the pictures show in the Preview, cgrand?
... or did you have to submit them from another hosting site or something?

I don't know if they do special orders dgnx6, but both the Wife & I would like to try a Mild Version... already peeing spice.
Be sure to let us know if they do.

I've gotten use to the prices around here Cool Hand Luke, especially for businesses that open in their spot. I really didn't think about it at the time.
For Mandeville adjacent, it doesn't seem bad.

...that being said... stay away from 'Blvd American Bistro'.
We went there the day we tried to go to 'Red Birds', only to find out they didn't open until the next Monday at 11.
I thought it was going to be like a 'Walk-Ons', but definitely NOT.
We walked out over a $100 lighter and it seems every dish had an ingredient that shouldn't have been in it.

I stopped by yesterday. Had 2 pcs. dark coleslaw and fries, no drink. Bill was $10.31 with no tip. Food was ok. Chicken is dark and is VERY crispy and moist. Fries and slaw were ok as well.
Overall, the place is ok imo but nothing special.
