Heading down there in the morning with the wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was looking for somewhere nice to get a drink and a decent meal.
We brought the kids a few years ago and have tried most of the popular tourist places.

Make the drive to Jesse’s on the Bay in Ft Morgan

La Lagniappe. Best around honestly!

or Carver's Steakhouse in Orange Beach - bacon wrapped quail, chili calamari, any of their steaks, ahi tuna. It's all good.
Avoid GT's on the Bay - the view was great, but that food was a joke. Might be a good spot for a few drinks.

Is the board trying to break a new record for GS/OB restaurant threads?

Drive into Pensacola to Global Grill.

Coastal, Cobalt, Jesse's either at Ft Morgan or Magnolia Springs, TinTop etc, etc...

Another vote for Jesse's on the Bay

So someone asked for Gulf Shores recs and get recs for Pensacola and Fort Morgan. As if someone wants to drive 40+ minutes each way for dinner on vacation. Hilarious

Go to rouses and then head back to condo with a bag of shrimp

Actually, looked at this place online earlier and thought it might be a good spot for an afternoon drink.

If you are wanting an anniversary meal in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, which is what you specified, your best option by far is Voyagers. Ignore the Chads telling you to drive an hour and a half to eat at places that are no better. And really ignore the ones suggesting places like CoastAl, Cobalt, Zeke's and the like. They likely wear PFGs on their anniversary dates.

Is Voyager’s dog friendly?

Hmm, that's odd. When we've stayed in Orange Beach or Perdido I routinely would drive to the original Jesse's in Magnolia Springs, and to Joe Patti's in Pensacola

Jeese's on the Bay is actually in Gulf Shores

Good spot for a drink with lots of boat traffic. The food was just amazingly horrible.
We didn't like the marinated crab claws, so the bartender offered to replace them with fried ones. She admitted to taking the original order back to the kitchen, battering, and frying them. They were slightly overcooked

Nothing else we had on the menu was edible either. It seemed like everything was straight out the frozen food aisle at Walmart with zero flavor.

What is so good at Jesse’s on the Bay? I’ve given it 4 or 5 tries and have found it to be mediocre and completely overpriced.
Best thing on the menu is their hamburger. Everything else has been a miss for me.
