I'll admit that I'm behind on the restaurant scene in the last several months but I'm looking for the current best restaurant for take out fried seafood. I'm craving fried catfish and fried shrimp - tia

They get some hate on here but Mike Anderson’s does a good fried fish/shrimp combo take out family meal when they’re not on fire.

I would get something close to where you live so it doesn’t get soggy

Does it have to be fried? I can’t stand to go fried foods as the containers make it soggy

If I order fried seafood, I'm always there before it's ready and I immediately open the container so it doesn't steam on the way home. Works well as long as the restaurant doesn't let it sit. I'll never understand so many fried food restaurants that serve to go who do not have containers with the vents in them or just don't open the vents if they are there. I've never once gotten soggy fried chicken or fries from a fried chicken place.

Yeah, it's takeout fried seafood that I'm craving even though I know the styrofoam container will not help the crispness -

I'm checking the menu for each place that is recommended and it's looking good:

Dempsey's is open for take out and the fried shrimp and fried catfish platters (at @ $13 with 2 sides looks good

Parrins - menu looks great for take out fried seafood, and it's close by - same for the Chimes - this would be a toss up

I'm an old Mike Anderson's fan BUT they have been so up and down the last years that I will pass for now - the same for Sammy's

Prior to CV19 I ate a lot of fried catfish and fried shrimp at Eliza's and it was great, but their menu has changed because of the shutdown and it's now a little bit more expensive for takeout

On Friday's I used to go to Matherne's on Highland for fried catfish, but they sold out and Robert's is ok but not great, same for Rouse's - ok, but all the hot take out areas aren't the same -

Tried recently but for me now a "no go" - Southern Pearl, Acme

Anyway, thanks for the great new leads - this CoVid 19 pandemic has changed everything, but given a little help I believe we will start getting back to some good eating, at least the restaurants will be very clean -

Sammy’s recently reopened and in my opinion the quality of food has improved significantly.

Bet-R’s fried fish is always a winner for me. Greens and Mac n cheese on the side and you better clear the afternoon schedule

That stuff is ethereal. I always put a piece or 6 on top of my to go buffet and then race home to be fat before it gets soggy. Actually I wind up eating some in the car even though it’s just 6 blocks.
