The BF and I were staying in downtown Covington this past weekend and decided to go to Ox Lot 9 for brunch. I had been hearing a lot of great things, and was excited to try it.
It did not disappoint!
I really loved the atmosphere. Lots of big windows made it bright and airy. The décor was beautiful. And for a change, I found the wait staff to be dressed in line for the prices on the menu. No jeans! They all wore nice white dress shirts with ties, and pretty brown aprons with leather straps. Their look really fit in with the décor.
Our waiter was wonderfully friendly, and helped us a lot with deciding on what to order. They were also running a special for brunch with 15 different bottles of rose to choose from, all at $40 each. He suggested the Clos Cibonne Tibouron. It was amazing! After a quick scan into my wine app to save it for future reference, I saw that it retails for $29 a bottle, so $40 was a great restaurant price.
We shared an appetizer of sliders of pork belly with pickled mirliton on drop biscuits. OMG these were so good. They were about 2 bites each, and it came with 5. It was a perfect size for sharing.
For my entrée I got the "Knife & Fork" Chicken Biscuit with Chipotle Cane Syrup and Toasted Pecan Butter. I loved the sweet and salty flavors. The chicken was ever so slightly dry, so it could've stood to come out of the fryer a little sooner.
My BF got the Petit Filet, Potato Hash, Grilled Zucchini, Farm Egg, and Hollandaise. It was delicious and cooked perfectly.
For dessert, we shared a special which was some sort of honey and lavender ice cream on homemade cookie sandwich. It was also wonderful.
Ox Lot 9 is not cheap. It will set you back some. But I am fine with this when I'm getting amazing service, beautiful atmosphere, and delicious food. I can't wait to go back and try it for dinner, as the menu looks amazing.
On a side note, it's connected to the new Southern Hotel. We walked around a little bit, and it's really a beautiful hotel.

Yeah, but I rarely deal with posting them here. I posted them on Facebook.
