I'm not a Costco member. Anywhere else in BR area that sells this cut of meat on its own? I think my kids are growing up and catching on to me cutting off the good stuff.

Just go to Calandro's and ask the meat cutter to get some in for you.

How many annual membership fees do you pay for access to one cut of meat? I'm assuming someone else carries or butchers this cut.....that's why I asked.

Ok, I just assumed you may use other things sold there like medicine, or bread or even milk.

You will save your $50 membership fee in Kirkland Vodka.

However, 1/2 gallon organic milk works out to about a buy 2 get one free amount and bread is basically BOGO. We use children's Claritin a lot and that is a good deal as welll.

I got a some Prime grade cap steaks from Costco recently. Huge disappointment at $16/lb.

It appears they didn't remove the membrane and simply rolled it up to create the steaks. Unfortunately I didn't realize it until I had already cooked them. They were tough as shite and cooked pretty unevenly.

Maybe I got the butcher in training but I won't buy them at Costco again.

I primarily use Costco for meat, alcohol, toilet paper and paper towels. It's more than worth the $50 annually for that, and I don't even live in Baton Rouge anymore. Most recently, I saved over $400 through Costco travel for a rental car over 10 days.

The prime strips I got last time were pretty good.

Probaby a fluke... I've had them and they're always incredible.

And Costco membership def pays for itself with the alchohol, meat, and OTC meds.

I've always been pleased with the other cuts from Costco so perhaps this was an anomaly. These were borderline inedible.

Maybe the meat there is good, but the prices aren't. I get better pricing at my local grocery store (at least on meat).

They also use a relatively unsanitary way of preparing it via blade tenderizing.

Yeh... just ask the ol boy at alexanders. They will help you out.

Also, call the iverstines place on Perkins. They will cut it if they don't have it ready. Make sure you call prior too though.
