I go to the Rouse's in Metairie near Causeway..The meat (beef) is shite and expensive. I only go there for the sale items and liquor. They are way understaffed so the sale tags don't get put up for a couple of days. I am sure these people don't make shite and are worked like dogs. I bought a pre-made salad that was rotten like seaweed. I was pissed because I had to go back. The manager didn't care and asked me to go pick out another one..I returned to him and said they are all bad. And the Rouse's sausage is terrible..Why make it if you make a bad product?

That's not really true at all. Hell, from Causeway to the 17th street canal there are five other stores alone and then a Whole Foods and Breauxmart not very far away either.

Curious how the Rouses in the Warehouse District is making out? Seemed they had a good crystal ball by building there with all of the growth that has happened.

I agree that the Burbank Rouses seafood has dropped off. Get to know the main guy back there. He has no problem letting you know what’s fresh /what was delivered when as long as you ask.

Winn Dixie (win dick me) they play the shell game with their sales..The two for one is a joke.

Dorignacs the only time I go there is for the bakery..good but overpriced. Good liquor sales.

Trader Joe's been there twice. So never got the feel for the place.

Rouse's See my post above.
-------------------
There is also Robert's on Robert E Lee..I go there for sale items and sometimes for salads. Excellent pre-made spinach salad. And a good hot bar.

Breaux Mart on Severn..decent store and decent sales. Good beef.

Trader Joe's stays slammed. Fresh Market seems like it will go out of business.
Whole Foods and TJ's are just too close by and I don't know how a niche store like Fresh Market will hang on.

I haven't noticed a real quality issue at Rouse's on Vets there, but I don't buy seafood from there and probably only do about half of my shopping with them.

I have noticed the employees have gotten more lazy and there are plenty with crappy attitudes.

Most metro nola rouses are hot garbage. Produce section is bad.

This topic comes up a lot on FD Board.

The new Rouses always are impressive. But metro nola they are really only shop in town so they can get away with it.

I think you're confusing NOLA and BR. I've never seen any of these issues in any of the Rouses I go to.

The one in Zachary (old leblancs) and the new one on airline/highland are fricking terrible. The meats/produce/seafood are horrible. Lots of bad/old/rancid product. Sometimes you can find good “fresh” shrimp. But that’s about it.

I know the one in Zachary is bad cause I have a buddy who lives up there and his wife will get groceries in BR. I’ve also went with him to get meat, got to his place and damn near vomit when the pack was open.

I will drive by the one on airline/highland today on my way home and go straight to Alexander’s. Which puts me in shite traffic coming back up highland to Jefferson, but nice people and quality product is why I go even though it’s a tad more pricey. If I can’t find the meat I want at Alexander’s I’d rather pay premium price at Maxwells (great steaks btw) than go to rouses.

I just find Rouses is turning into a Save a Lot type deal. They have shitty Rouses products up and down their stores.

They want to be upscale, but want to cater to the wal mart crowd at the same time. It isn’t working. Well... I guess it is

Well that's nasty.

Bought a pork butt from the store on Bertrand a while back to smoke, opened it up out the vacuum seal and it immediately stunk up the whole downstairs of the house, wife came ask if I shite myself. Got the wrapper and the damn thing had a use by date of March 3rd, it was April 14th. Never had an issue before but now I started checking dates closely if I buy meat from there.

The one on Burbank... the workers fir the most part dont seem to give a shite about anything, minus like 1 seafood guy

The workers in that store are awful. I went there once, and had trouble finding the buggies (where they are isn't very obvious when you first walk up). I walked in and asked someone where they were. She just said "outside" then walked off. I lived in Lafayette when the one on Bertrand opened up and loved that store. The past few times I've been have been very lacking.

I also frequent the new one in Gretna a lot.

I love my Rouse's on Clearview. I eat their Italian Sausage all the time and I prefer their bespoke boudin to Manda's or Richard's. I love their French Bread, too. I've never gotten seafood there so that I can't judge but everything with their name on it that I have tried, I have liked.

I also frequent Airline & Labarre, where the MILF-watching is

The Rouse's on Drusilla (old Leblancs) is a shite show. Bad produce. Bad meat. Bad deli. I go for booze only. It's so disappointing. I've been to the CBD store when it first open and it was divine...still is for the most part probably because the food has a high turnover. Drusilla is an abomination.

Checking in to say the Rouses on the Lakefront might be the most pathetic excuse for a grocery store I’ve seen in a hot minute. Just wow. I’ve seen a better selection of produce at gas stations. Went there out of convenience, but never again. I’ll go to Robert or MidCity. It was astounding.

Every rouses I have been to, I've noticed any expiring product-meat, milk, cheese gets pushed to the front. Not surprising coming from the penny pinching millionaire owners.
