Sav-Wa's or Suh-voys?
I've always called it and heard it called "sav-wa's", but this older fella at the grocery store looked at me crazy and finally said, "Oh, you mean "Suh-voys"" when we found where they recently moved it in the freezer section.

Being part Sav-wa, I understand your dilemma. In Church Point, LA we say Sav-Wa. We also spell it SAVOY which is my Grandmother's married name.

I believe you. I want to say I knew that from a long time ago, but it didn't hit me at the time.
I was caught off guard when the guy corrected me.
