Looking for the can’t miss local spots. I’ll be here for a couple of days for work. No fine dining this trip. Also, any local breweries between there and Bham I need to get a 6 pack from?

Flying Heart, BeauxJax and Frozen Pirogue are all good, and in the new downtown district in Bossier

Went to Flying Heart tonight. Seems their specialty is pizza. I had the Mediterranean with sausage and their in house IPA. Pizza was good. Their IPA was forgettable. Nice place and atmosphere was better than I expect given what the area looked like getting off the exit. Place was crowded for Sunday night. Cleared out quick though.

Silver Star out by the racetrack is good. They have a nice bar area too.

7th Tap and Great Raft are less than 10 minute drive from Flying Heart although neither serve food. 7th Tap has some great beer and nice set up overall.

So……. is Bossier devoid of a local breakfast place? I see Strawn’s in Shreveport, but I’m headed the other direction. Don’t see anything on this side of the river besides Waffle House and IHOP?

Bossier sucks. The only thing they have is that little "downtown" district and 2Johns.

Flying Heart's beer is terrible. Great Raft (has an in house restaurant now) and 7eventh Tap are legit though and right next to each other. Go there if you are still around later this week.

For dinner, go to Ki Mexico. Other places would be Franks, Twisted Root, and maybe El Cabo (a drive from Bossier).

Bossier has a Strawn’s and Another Broken Egg. There is also Cafe USA in south Bossier. Country Kitchen was great, but they closed for good during the pandemic.

Shreveport water sucks. I only eat out in Bossier. In addition to what you listed, Bossier has Walkons, Silver Star, and Ralph and Kacoos just off the top of my head.

Try Lucky Palace in Bossier. Don't let the surroundings fool you. Legit Chinese Food. You'll thank me later

Giseppes pasta cafe
Franks Pizza
Franks Louisiana kitchen
Cabo verde
twisted root burger...don't think you'll be upset at any of those spots for lunch or dinner

For breweries
GO TO 7TH TAP!!! They are doing some next level stuff right now
Great raft always solid

Second Lucky Palace. It's Shreveport-Bossier's GOAT for off the beaten path food gems. If you are into wine, it's the best selection in the city. The hotel it sits in is the dumpiest POS in the city however. Ignore that and enjoy the food.

Yes, can't believe I forgot Lucky Palace.

And yes, just ignore the hotel and the hookers snorting cocaine in the parking lot and walk to the restaurant.

Or enjoy both. I don't judge.
