Since moving from Louisiana I can not find either of them at a store, so am thinking of having some sent to me... you suggest which and why?

Slap Ya Mama is better to me. Tony's is too salty.

I rank "Slap Ya Mama" higher than Tony's, also because I find Tony Chachere's too salty.

However, I also just discovered Zatarain's Creole Seasoning, which I think I prefer to either.

Tony's is my fave. I like it way better than Zatrarain's or Paul Prudhomme's. I haven't tried the other one that was manetioned.

Also, I can get Tony's in Los Angeles now, so I've got THAT going for me.

McCormick SeasonAll has more flavor and a little less heat.

That being said of the two in question, I prefer Tony's however I rarely use it.

Why does everyone always say Tony's is too salty.

Could it be maybe its just not spicy enough for your taste ?

I ususally make my own, but I do have a can of Tony's and Slap ya Mama in the cabinet.

McCormick SeasonAll

It has more sodium (350 mg) than Tony's and Slap Ya Mama's (both 310 mg).

I haven't joined the less salt health kick yet, so none of them are too salty to me.

FWIW, I like Zatarians better.

I feel Tony's is too salty because I like to use a lot of it, and when you do, it makes things too salty.

I made my own seasoning once, without salt, and it was very good. But just too much of a pain in the arse.

Shulte, keep looking around. I can easily find it over here in central Alabama. Heck I can even get the liquid or crab boil in the net over here. Crawfish boils have really taken off in this state. I can usually find many Louisiana products over here. I just can't get my hands on crawfish tails that come from La. I'm not buying that crap from China that is raised in toilets. So in many of my crawfish recipes I usually substitute shrimp. I can buy fresh shrimp over here. There is a vendor from Mobile who comes to town twice a week. He sells Gulf shrimp.
