It would do so well! Everyone got on an anti-pasta kick for a while but it needs to come back! Everyone I speak to agrees when we talk about it.

One of the chains we actually liked, unlike Olive Garden.

There's a Semolina cookbook on the first page.

Chicken/shrimp/crawfish Roban is still a regular meal at my house. Taste like my childhood.

Semolina was open for 30 years and the last one closed in 2020. Owners are busy operating Zea their other business venture. Based on the current factors of operating a profitable restaurant business, I don’t see Semolina re-opening.

The Zea's near me once housed Semolina's. It's the one under the Pontchartrain Expressway on Metairie Rd.

During the pandemic, there was a ghost kitchen in town making Semolina's dishes. It was OK, probably would have been better if the Waitr delivery guy had brought it within 90 minutes of me placing the order and hadn't been holding the bag of food at a 45 degree angle when he handed it to me.

I liked their version of Pad Thai better than like 80% of the actual Thai places I’ve had it.

I would gladly sacrifice my arteries for some macaroni and cheese cake

Why wouldn't a restaurant that solely serves pasta work in the current environment? The margins on a bowl of pasta have to be HUGE. I know there's more to it than that, but push out some $18-20 bowls of pasta and $3 fountain drinks, and it seems like it would do pretty well.

semolina was open in multiple locations for decades...the owners closed them all. why do you think they did that if it were so easy to make money that way?

I just made Shrimp Roban last week. It's a delicious, unhealthy, but great tasting recipe.

Does anyone have the actual version to their Chicken Marsala? It was, and still is (to me) the best Chicken Marsala I've ever eaten.

Zea’s & Semolina’s is owned by the same company. Shrimp Breaux Bridge on Zea’s menu is the same thing as Shrimp Roban from Semolinas. But I do miss Semolinas for sure!

Although I appreciate the cookbook, it’s just not the same. I want to go back and sit in one of their bright, colorful restaurants and be able to choose from so many delicious meals. Do I want Pad Thai, Shrimp Roban or Macaroni and cheesecake? So many choices. Also want to be able to look around and see all the big paper mache pasta noodles hanging from the ceiling. I miss that place and wish it would come back. I know if they opened just one restaurant it would stay so busy.

I didn’t find out about that place until it was too late. Several other people I talked to hadn’t ever heard of it either. Wish I’d of known.

Because pasta got a bad rap (remember “sugarbusters” and people started avoiding it like the plague. People realize now it’s not just the pasta that makes you fat. Everything in moderation.

Yes. I say this all the time.
I refuse to go to Zea's because they killed Semolina and Mizado.
