Someone recommended going to get some Louisiana chicken fry.

Anyone got any batter from scratch they like to use for fried squash?

I either use an egg wash then batter with seasoned flour or do a wet batter.

Slice thin, soak in buttermilk, seasoned corn meal( no flour)...fry at 360 in two inches of oil until brown.

Egg wash then coat in Italian bread crumbs and straight to the hot oil.

I grew up eating it sliced like chips and dredged in fish fry. Don't think i've ever had it "battered."

I have little to no skills in the kitchen and I probably use the cooking terms of art incorrectly all the time. Someone just unloaded about 10 squash on me and I love fried squash.
