Steak recommendations in Lafayette

My usual rec would be Ruth's Chris, but the person who is asking would never be able to afford that. Does anyone have any recs for a reasonably priced restaurant for a good steak in Lafayette?

So, all the "cajun" restaurants here seem to have a 1/4" thick ribeye that they buy from Win Dixie, cook it well done and put etoufee on top. I'm gonna exclude those.
Copelands has a nice Filet, but their Ribeye is an embarrassment. Both are in the same $30 price range as Ruth's Chris.
Same with Charlie G's, etc, they're all Ruth's Chris price range.
So.. now we're at Texas Roadhouse. Pick your steak, they do a decent job cooking it. Reasonably priced. I hate to recommend it because it went to shite a couple of years ago and I haven't been back since. Maybe it's better.
Honestly? It's hard to get a steak at a restaurant here when almost anyone can do it better at home with better meat.

I was wondering about both Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn. Thanks for both of your posts.

I paid $40 for two filets at Whole Foods a few months ago. Best steak I've ever had, and filets are not usually my go to steak. I wanted to compare to a recent trip to Ruth's.

this
price of beef is high so a prime steak anywhere is going to be expensive

Shade Tree Cafe in Broussard. Better than Longhorn imo.

This. THey actually hand cut their steaks and dang near everything on the menu is made from scratch which is unheard of for a chain restaurant or a local place for that matter.

I was going to suggest it, but have you seen their prices lately? You might as well save the gas and go to Chris'

Nino's in BR routinely runs a pasta special with cap steak.
I is incredibly good. I wonder if the Costco in BR has it.
