I'm not saying this was never true. I am also not saying anything about Subway's Quality. It is what it is... a quick place where I can get an edible sandwich that has less than 400 caliories in it. I know there are a million places that serve better sandwiches.

However, there is a myth that I see pop up on here frequently claiming that Subway's ham is made of Turkey meat. This is simply not accurate:

HAM (Black Forest) Ham cured with: water, dextrose, salt, potassium lactate, contains 2% or less
modified food starch (derived from corn), sodium phosphates, sodium diacetate, sodium erythorbate,
smoke flavoring, sodium nitrite. May contain: seasoning [potassium chloride, pork stock, sugar, yeast
extract, salt, lactic acid, fructose, sunflower oil, cysteine HCL, calcium lactate, modified food starch,
flavors, grill flavor (from sunflower oil), polysorbate 80, rendered pork fat, and smoke flavor],

Subway Ingredient Document

There is a turkey ham on the menu that is used in the cold cut combo sandwich. Perhaps this is where the misconception comes from?

I wish it were made of turkey. It would sure be more natural. Who knew the Black Forest had so much polysorbate in it?

it's in small print (of course). look for it next time.

I would go in the Subway down the street and take a picture to post but I don't feel like having to go home and put on new clothes.

Perfectly Normal.

I love the smoke flavor, grill flavor, and pork stock being added.

Hey, can I have the turkey insead or is that chicken or fish based?

Now that's the question with an answer hidden therein.

Yeah whatever, Jared

The sign definitely says that, but I've read it is just for that one sandwich. Cold Cut Combo maybe?

I'm not a big Subway fan, but it's pretty good for a quick sandwich
