Going to the game on Saturday. Any recommendations for Sunday Brunch in Baton Rouge day after the game?

Maybe pick a place down Government. Elsie's, Mid-City Beer Garden (no kids allowed), or Curbside would be good choices.

If you're just looking for food and don't care much about drinks, Simple Joe's Cafe or French Truck are other good spots.

I'll second the recommendations of The Chimes and Elsie's. Superior Grill has a decent brunch. But I'm a sucker for Mexican breakfast food.

I gotta say, we went to Mason's once and were not impressed with the food or drinks. I'm terrified people will find this out and my wife and I will be cast out of the 225 area code.

Dealing with the amount of people at Mason's is in no way worth the food. I can't stand going there for brunch as it's always a cluster frick on Sundays

Me and my GF just do it for the 6 dollar bottomless mimosas. It can be a cluster frick if you’re with a bunch of people, but waiting outside with your SO while sipping on champagne ain’t the worst thing in the world.

It just seemed dirty....like it kind of smelled.

I'm not a huge brunch fan to begin with. You start off the day drinking Mimosas and Bloody Marys, that's a recipe for passing out on the sofa by 7 p.m. I'd rather just cook some eggs and grits at my house or go get a sausage biscuit at McDonald's. If we go somewhere for breakfast, I'm more inclined to suggest a place like Louie's, Waffle House or Simple Joe's and just drink coffee.

Mason's opens at 9 on Sundays.

That's the only reason to go there over all of the other options.

Olive or Twise will be nuts on Sunday, I much preferred their Saturday brunch.

Chimes is always a good option.

I’m failing to see the problem here.

How so? Was thinking of going there to check it out in a few weeks.

As for the OP, I agree with the Elsie’s, Chimes, Bistro Byronz recs. I’d throw in Superior if you don’t mind a bunch of kids running around.

They had to stop doing bottomless mimosas because it was getting too wild or something like that

They stopped doing bottomless craft mimosas.

I believe they are still doing bottomless regular mimosas.

And yeah, they cut out the bottomless craft mimosas because people were getting sloppy drunk. They still grandfathered me in for a bit, but then the better bartenders all left. Well, almost all.

Ruffinos for a little nicer atmosphere and really good food.
