I’m sure it will do well. People at the office talking about it. And most people that live over here now lived in New Orkeans at one point.

Tavi was fantastic and it was packed when I went yesterday. The waitress told us that most of the people she was serving had just moved over from New Orleans. It is going to do really well in downtown Covington.

Ian McNulty at NOLA.com has an article about it today

No issues with Meribo, eat there probably once a week. Great happy hour and I like their pizzas. The rest of the menu misses the mark for me, I think PD has them there

And we just got back from Tavi, it’s in line with Shaya and Saba. Good stuff

Meribo pizza is pretty damn good. They could be better if they dialed the cheese back some. its too much on the red sauce pies. I don't bother with the white sauce pies.

hot tots are awesome
meatball and italian sandwhiches are really good also.

back on topic: can't wait to try Tavi.

ate there tonight it was outstanding.
we had the mezze dips, wild mushroom hummus and the ribeye, everything was delicious. 125 bucks with two cocktails and dessert/coffee

nice comfortable space and the service was friendly and prompt. We will be regulars

Gonna try it. Thanks for this thread. We need more options in Mandeville/Covington.

Northshore is missing Middle Eastern/Greek/Lebanese, so this is a good add. Also fills the upscale-but-casual niche that's really underserved.

really wish oxlot hadnt moved out, that was our favorite place in covington. however, the downtown area options are leaps and bounds now better than it used to be

we like greyhound, meribo, tavi, buddy's, lola, siler bar, etc. the shack RIP

100%. Albasha is good for what it is, but there's much better out there.

2nd meal at tavi last night. it was obviously busy for Vday but they didnt overbook and the place was fun and lively

lamb ragout hummus
fattoush
mezze dips
kvaroy salmon with couscous
cocktails

outstanding in every way. the food is incredibly delicious and the service was first class.

ate tavi again last night, 100% excellent again

we had all 5 mezze dips with pita, and split the sea bass entree (added crabmeat) ended with tahini chocolate mousse and coffee. Two cocktails each ended up right at 200 bucks.

Our server was delightful

also the last two times we’ve been in it hasn’t been so frantically busy so now is a good time to go if you’ve been waiting. I like places to be lively but not up for grabs and last night was perfect
