In honor of our thanks to the God who made us and who gives us life anew each day, let us spend a moment to consider all the wonderful foods for which we are thankful on Thanksgiving.

If you had to limit your Thanksgiving meal dishes to ten, what would they be?

Mine, you ask?

Oh, here they are.

10) Canned cranberry cylinders - Hate me for liking these more than the fresh version. I once hated them too, but now I almost have to eat my turkey with them.

9) Green bean casserole - Is it cream of mushroom soup that they put in that? I like.

8) Shrimp rice stuffing - I don't like it inside the turkey, so I guess it's not technically stuffing. But boy do I like it. I thumb my nose at all you dressing snobs.

7) Fresh yeast rolls - In an earlier time, this may have been numba one. But with age, my love of bread has slightly declined.

6) Jello salad - Don't know what it is about that alien looking goo, but the sweetness when served between savory dishes makes me shimmy and shake.

5) Mashed potatoes - I'm not talking instant. I want them fresh, creamy, and not filled with anything but butter, cream, salt and pepper. Screw you garlic pushers.

4) Fresh gravy - I'm not talking instant. I will spit instant right back into your gravy boat. King, Queen, President, glassman, I don't care. Make me some gravy from the fat of the turkey.

3) Turkey - Predictable, but it's not Thanksgiving without it. Don't overcook it, please.

2) Piccadilly carrot souffle - It looks like it should be savory, but it might be the best dessert item I've had. The sweetness and the richness of that vanillay flavor hidden in the orange. Yum.

1) Sweet potatoes with marshmallow - Like the carrot souffle, but along with the cranberry, this might be the best accompaniment to the dry, gamey turkey.

I hate any and all typical holiday foods.

Between my cranberries, carrot souffle, and sweet potatoes, I have no room for more sugar. I've always considered pumpkin pie a Yankee dish anyway. What are your top ten?

Rummey, what are your other three?

I don't like to make lists. I find them pointless.

Congratulations. This was the most unappetizing read I've come across on the F&D Board. Spitting in a gravy boat? Excuse me.. I'm gonna hurl.

My favorite as well except we use a pecan crust.

I agree with these as well.

You've gotta include cornbread dressing with turkey. That's number 2 for me. Also, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, and pecan pie are all in the list too.

My list would be...
1. Sweet Potatoes with Pecan crusting
2. Turkey and cornbread dressing
3. Fried Turkey and Honey Glazed Ham
4. Pumpkin bread
5. Mashed potatoes and gravy
6. Pumpkin pie
7. Pecan pie
8. Yeast rolls
9. Black eyed peas with bacon and pork fat
10. Succotash

I never got into he cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, or jello salad. It is always available at our house; I just pass on it and go to something else.

I think over one "10 best" thread is spamming the board.

When you add content rather than questions and personal conversations to the Food Board, your opinion will matter to me.

I don't know about that, but it is delicious and definitely deserves to be in the top 10.

It's laughable that you think people care at all about your opinions. You are a horrible poster and should be given the banhammer.

Funny thing is that no one asked.

Your constant spamming of all the boards is aggravating and annoying. I hope the admins take you out swiftly.

Totally out of line bible boy. She is one of the revered posters on this site, and despite your self - aggrandizement, she really adds grace and dignity to this place.
