The Old Butcher Shop
My work takes me to many rural towns around the south. Recently I stopped in Pearson, Georgia at the Old Butcher Shop and bought some thick ribeye steaks, beef smoked sausage, and some pork sausage. This place was awesome and their staff was very friendly. They run a nice little operation, the type of place one might do a U-turn for, like I did.
Anyone ever been there? It's a small town just a little bit north of the Georgia/Florida state line and I definitely will stop back in the next time I go that way.

In Southwest Georgia, in Cordele and and few other locations, there is a local chain called Striplings. I don't get over there any more, but they used to be very, very good. Don't know if they still are.

Their pork sausage is incredible. Hot is damn hot and the extra hot is for people who truly enjoy unrelenting spice.
Great selection of seasonings, sauces, and marinades, too.
Haven't checked out The Old Butcher Shop, OP, but will next time down that way.

Real-deal butcher shops like this are increasingly rare, this one looks great. Recently remodeled and clean look. We should support and sustain these businesses.
For those in South LA - I will submit Cox's Meat Market in Reserve.
Cox's Meat Market
Over 90 years old, still family owned, and my personal favorite andouille and head cheese near LaPlace. There are probably a handful similar shops within driving distance, but I work near Cox's and get excited everytime I decide to stop in.

Carroll's off I-75 (exit 82) has been a regular stop for us when driving to Atlanta.

Grew up going to the original location in Warwick. Agree - the pan sausage is outstanding.
M&T Meats in Hawkinsville is very good too.

When I was a real little kid in the mid to late 50's my grandpa on my dad's side had a small butcher shop in Arabi near the river on Aycock St. right across from the stockyards that were once there years ago.
I'm now 71 and can still recall the smell of that place with the very heavy, large butcher block table he used to cut meat on and the relief from the heat walking into the big meat cooler he had in the shop.
I'll frequent Tags Meat Market in Chalmette every once in a while to buy some of their products. They are old style butchers who still break down the meat. They also make a pretty damn good hog head cheese.

Looks great. I wish I could get over there. Iverstine’s in BR is local and is well worth a visit. There are some other local very small beef and farm sellers at the Farmer’s Market downtown that you should try to support locals!
