I know they closed a good while back, has anything taken over the location?

Dunno. But I wonder if it's the same Catfish Charlie's people as the one in Monroe? That place is surprisingly good

One place did. Closed in a year. Currently it is empty.

Coupe of empty places around Hammond that have been empty for a while. There is also the Mexican place off the interstate that's been empty.

it's a tough market
half the people that do eat out will do so in a shitty chain of which there are many
downtown is getting better though
iron horse, blackend brew, tacos and beer are all relatively new and doing well. waiting for lees to reopen...

I know all those folks well and eat there regularly.

Is it better than San Felipe's in Scottsdale?

what's the status?
drive by yesterday and it doesnt look like any things been done since the clean up after the fire. Are they in design on a remodel or something? Hopefully insurance isn't jacking them around

I'm pretty pleased with how Blackened Brew turned out (following that awful opening thread here). Best draft beer selection for 30 miles in either direction and the food is solid.
What sort of astounds me is the fact that Santa Fe Cattle Company at Hammond Square is packed every time I pass it.

I know
it's preposterous
I'd never heard of it before they built that one but it's been packed since day one
running joke in our house

My family and I talk about this constantly that Sante Fe makes a ton of money. Hammond restaurants have really been improving as of late blackened brew, iron horse, and the steak house are great additions.

eats in hammond have never been this good since I've lived here

Stopped by blackened brew yesterday to duck storms. That place is fantastic. Great beer selection. Only thing we ate were nachos which were solid. The owner, Anthony, is one cool dude. We got a laugh out of the original thread on td
Eta: we had the stuffed meatballs too

the original thread took on a life of its own, mostly for comedy's sake. the place is very good and the beer selection is fantastic

Anthony is solid and the place is great.

I like the post you said about buying Terry Bradshaw a Coors Light...

I haven't heard anything and I'm in sales that deals with restaurants. I check this board occasionally for leads but usually have the inside scoop on places before the board but sometimes it pulls through.

I did. I also fricked a red head in the arse that night
