Was it just Hi-C (or whatever it is now), and it just tasted great as a kid because of the higher sugar content, or did they have their own formula orange drink?

Was it not carbonated? I thought it was.

You’re older than me, so I can’t speak to your childhood. But for me - it was orange soda (carbonated) and then the Hi-C was fruit punch/red and not carbonated.

That was also the 90s, so could be totally different.

Edit - well. Google says it wasn’t carbonated so maybe my memory is garbage.

I remember it from the late 80s. Not carbonated. Orange Hi-C.

Was damn good as a child.

I’m sure when some of us were kids it was real sugar and not HFCS.

In the 70's/80's it was not carbonated. I'm not sure who's formula they used but it was great.

This is probably the true answer, adding the lower sugar content in drinks now.

I worked at the McD’s at the corner of College and Perkins in late 70’s. It was not carbonated and it was so good after a shift.
As an aside, toughest job I’ve ever had.

No idea but I can remember mom just ordering “Orange drink”. It was really early 80’s the last time I remember having it. By mid 80’s most of them had Minute Maid orange that was carbonated.

I worked there in 85 for three months. It was the hardest and worst job I ever had

It came in a big arse can at the grocery store. Enough for the family to share. Now, that's equivalent to an extra large at McD's.

McNugget happy meal with orange Hi-C. And they came with actual toys.

That’s just pure nostalgia.
