Tommy's Cuisine and NOSH (NOLA) to close

No link since behind a NOLA.com paywall. According to Ian McNulty's Instagram:
I guess the Creole Italian model wasn't for the new owners. The oyster/wine bar concept is basically what NOSH is/was. I used to eat at Tommy's when Tommy Andrade (the ex of Irene - Irene's) owned it and really liked it. When Creole Concepts took it over I thought it lost something. NOSH was OK but never really took off despite the great location. This area is saturated with some really good restaurants.

Now both are set to close and the chef/manager duo who opened @plates.nola just last year and taking over with two new concepts.
One will be a modern French bistro, the other an oyster bar/wine bar with a focus on natural wines and Gulf seafood.

It was good when it first opened, but he was sort of phoning it in by the time he sold it. I never even considered eating there afterward.

I don’t know. I never considered NOSH to be a wine oyster bar. Maybe I’m wrong.
I like the ideas of the new places.

Tommy’s was easier to get into than Irene’s and much less of a hassle to dine in general. I’m not sure it was as good, but good enough
It was never going to long term outlast Tommy selling it though

Everything they do is average. They buy restaurants, cut corners, make average food and watch people keep throwing money at it. I'm glad it's finally catching up to them. They are turning local establishments into chain restaurants pretending to still be local and unique.
Boulevard sucks, and somehow they keep opening more of them.

Plates must be doing well. Has anyone been? That spot is tough.

I haven't been because I just don't like the name

Wife and I went a while back. It was empty, but we were there pretty early because we were going to a show after. Drinks were good, food was okay. I’d take Costera 9 times out of 10 if looking for a Spanish tapas style meal.
People backing plates must have unlimited funds. I can’t imagine Plates is doing well enough for them to think they can open one more restaurants let alone two…especially in that part of town. $$$$

They might be opening those so they can close plates
