I love this place.

You think they would do like Frank's and open up one on the other side of Baton Rouge. Really curious why they haven't done this.

I think its because they do good where they are at.. But I rarely venture there due to the location and the long drive. If they opened on up in south BR or east of BR I would be a loyal customer.

Great after school treat in high school. Fortunately, I don't go over there too much anymore unless it is Tony's

My aunt and uncle in St. Francisville have a great relationship with those folks; he pulls up in the Suburban, they pack it with crawfish, he hands the cash out the window, and away he goes. I do have to say that it's the most consistent boiled crawfish I've ever had; the same every time.

Redemptorist?

Tony's is the shite... I guess they are content to just keep doing well where they are rather than deal with expanding.

Twenty years ago they asked Tony why he didn't open on South BR and he said "Why? They drive here to me, I don't have to go to them." And he didn't and his kids don't have to either.

And like above the whole operation is in that block as well as probably most of his customers are in that area as well.

I go there all the time and I'm on the complete opposite side of town.

I think he would easily double in profits with a satalite location. I would certainly visit more than a few times a year.

I'm friends with some of the family. From what i understand, they are totally content on making the money they are currently making. I have no idea how much, but i would think with Louisiana Seasoning Products and Tony's, it must be a substantial amount.

Their food is amazingly good and consistent. If you've never had one of the Seafood Trays, you need to get one for your next get together.

have you been there during the week anytime around lunch? I work down the street from there and go once a week for lunch and it's always jammed packed. The people on that side of town are very loyal to Tony's. To say they would double their profits by moving to south BR is probably reaching.

I didnt say they should MOVE I said they should open up a satelitte location.. AKA a smaller place where they tranport some of their supplies to. Believe it or not there are a whole hell of a lot of people in BR that dotn even know about Tony's and those that simply wont venture out to plank road.

the building on Plank has been paid for years, requires no local advertising at all to pack the place, no new training/systems, no additional new startup costs, permits, zoning, etc.

A South BR one would prob make money, but it would take a while to break even.

I really hope that they don't open a satellite location. Just like the one of a kind New Orleans old school, gritty places part of the Tony's experience is driving to Plank road and going into the old shop. It's really not very dicey at all getting to Tony's compared to some other parts of BR or New Orleans. It's just an inconvenience for many.

The place is great - why ruin a good thing- everytime local places expand the quality goes down. Plus the place is packed all the time and they probably make enough money on Good Friday alone to support their entire family.

Then why the billboards in South BR?

I love the place... been going there all the time as long as I can remember, but it does seem like they're trying to get more of BR to realize they're there.

by local i mean the local neighborhood. The locals/local workers pack the place every day.

I would assume the billboards in south BR are for weekend larger catering type orders.
