Was watching the True South tv show the other day and they were showing replay of New Orleans episode..... How good is Mandina's or Liuzza's? I think they went to Dooky Chase too

Love Mandina’s. Haven’t been to the others, unfortunately.

It's been a while since I've seen it, which Liuzza's did they go to, the one on Bienville or the Liuzza's by the track?
The one on Bienville has gone downhill according to friends.
Mandina's is always good but I'm a little biased since I have been going there for 40 years

I feel like it’s still decent enough for what it is. I appreciate the fresh cut fries
Mandina’s is better overall, but they take a number of shortcuts with things.
Neither are groundbreaking dining experiences, but it’s good that both places are still around and I’ll make a point to hit both up on occasion.

They are great for what they are. Nostalgic N.O. Neighborhood establishments. The bones of the city. I’d recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans but they aren’t high end culinary destinations.
