Veracruz Coastal Mexican - opening in old Voodoo BBQ on Drusilla

Full name appears to be Veracruz Mar Y Tierra Coastal Mexican.
Saw a few signs when driving by and looks like they're officially a Google Maps location with no other info to go with them. Tried looking up if there were multiple but it seems to be standalone. Owner on the business filing is also listed as an agent to La Carreta so I'm going to assume he's off to do his own thing with this new restaurant. Anyone know anything about this?

Looks like his son has the same dish over at at Mestizo.

I enjoy Jim’s food at Mestizo’s, I hit that place when I’m in BTR.

Articles ran in local Media during the Fall: LINK
With that said, it was supposed to open in December and I haven't been able to find a peep about it in the last few weeks. Not sure what's going on.

How do you find info like this

Go on the Secretary of State website and look up the business name. You can see who filed and any officers/owner listed. You can search that name and you'll see what else they possibly own.

Looks like they finally got everything needed to get going besides having a staff. IG page updated to opening in February opening date.

Looks to be a little fancier than I was expecting.
I just assumed it would be another run of the mill Mexican restaurant.

Definitely not the standard, which is why I've been following it. Since early on, they pitched it as an upscale concept that focused on fresh ingredients, multiple ceviche options, a nice outdoor space, etc. We'll see if they manage it, but that at least was the pitch.

The outdoor space seems limited, but a very cute atmosphere. When I drive by I see a handful of outside seating, and if memory serves me right, the dining room was not massive but could serve at least 80+ guests.

Looks like the private soft opening was tonight. If y'all have IG, check their stories. Looks very promising.

Went tonight with some friends. Everything was great.
Best elote, rice and beans I've had in the state. Salsa had a hint of sweetness but was fresh and delicious. Steak skewers were good, and the kids meal skewers were a great portion size for children. I ended up ordering the three taco plate that came with black beans and rice. Rice was short grain with corn and cilantro, but tasted wonderful. Tacos i got were the octopus, steak, and pork belly. All were fantastic, although I felt the pork belly was a bit too well done.
Ordered a guava margarita and a house frozen margarita (not listed on the dinner menu) and those drinks hit pretty hard, probably more with the house marg. Two is definitely enough for me with dinner.
Dessert offers (but not listed) were tres leches, flan, and banana crème brûlée. We shared the flan and learned it had coconut which was a nice surprise.
I'm glad it's near my home. This is a pretty awesome spot.
