I just moved to Birmingham and rode by a Walk Ons and apparently it just opened recently. I thought they only had them in Louisiana based off of how y’all talk about them on this board.

What do you get when you go?

I enjoy their "Cajundillas" which is one of their signature dishes.

A pretty unique take on the quesadilla with LA flair.

I haven't had any "bad"food there either.

Best,
Andy

Sliders, black jack chicken sandwich. They have pretty decent gumbo, burgers and poboys too.

Walk Ons is a cool sports bar with above average food. Don't expect to be blown away or anything but it's a decent spot to go eat, have a few beers and watch a game.

There was a thread recently.

What to Order at Walk Ons

Basically, everything is good but nothing is amazing. Very good bar food with a Cajun flair.

Not sure about the one in Birmingham, but we recently ate at the one in Houma for a graduation and my fried shrimp platter was excellent. All the other recommendations are good as well. Decent food for a sports bar IMO

Yeah I’m not expecting authentic Cajun food since it’s a sports bar. I looked at menu and the food looked different then what I’m used to so I’d like to try it.

The boom boom shrimp poboy is easily the best thing on the menu! The ribeye poboy is pretty good too.

Walkons also has the best loaded fries I've been able to find.

I've been twice now since I live pretty close to it. It's honestly not worth the long waits it's still having since it opened. The burger I had was fine, but the Buufalo Chicken Wrap was downright awful. The cheese fries app is good as well.

I was intrigued by the Cajundilla folks are mentioning, but it read to me like it had way too much going on in it. But that's a preference thing - I prefer simple dishes for the most part.

If you don't live or work close to it, I don't think it's worth a special trip out there to it.

Walk Ons has my favorite onion rings. And i really like the ribeye po-boy and the tuscan chicken.

I know someone in the other thread didn't like the tuscan but, i enjoy it.
