There's no dairy in tofu. It's made from soy "milk". But, soy allergy is not uncommon

seriously, what is that black thing?

Is that a piece of woodear mushroom, or a fermented black bean?

That wouldn’t be the cause….there’s no “milk” in soy milk. I don’t care for the texture, but tofu is really good for you. Very high in protein…similar to egg whites.
