Rays thread got me thinking about that area. used to take the wife to Semolinas when we were dating. Why did they close?

I think the last that owned it got tired if running a restaurant. She had plenty of money anyway. IIRC

It certainly wasn't. But when you are in college and a buddy cooks there...well...it's delicious!

If I remember correctly the one here in Br closed before Katrina due to poor business. The one in Alexandria and New Orleans died after Katrina. The n.o location never got off the ground to rebuild after the storm. I also think Alexandria and one or two more elsewhere were outside the brown family franchises...

I miss the one in Alex. , used to eat there often when there overnight for business. Now there's really not much else in that shite hole town that appeals to me... Moderately priced places

Coursey and Bennington.

The one on Coursey seemed to do well. Not sure about Bennington.

I went to the one in Baton Rouge back in college once, and it was some of the worst food I've ever had. Also knew two friends that waited there during college and they both said it was awesome shite they were "cooking."

Went to the one in Metairie last year with some work folks (not my choice) and it was equally awful. Just not good food.

Given the traffic through that town you would think it would have produced a food soul of some sort, and it did not. No one was willing to stop and spend time at all.
