Got red beans in the slow cooker at home and I want to pick up some cornbread to do as a side. What is your favorite kind? Easiest?

I use this one all the time

I don't care for sweet so I've used the Pioneer in the package. Add milk and an egg, mix, put in a preheated cast iron skillet that has hot oil in the bottom, bake and you're done.

jiffy. doesn't get any easier, add a little sugar for increased sweetness

Jiffy, which is packaged in Michigan, is too sweet and has too much flour & not enough corn, to my taste. I rarely use a mix, but Pioneer is good...and so is the Martha White self-rising cornmeal in the 5 lb bag.

Do it the proper way
Use white cornmeal (my preference) or yellow if you like it yellow, but do it the right way.

I grew up on Jiffy. Many people think it's too sweet, but I like it sweet.

Made some Jiffy last night for white beans and Bourgeois sausage. Left over's tonight.

It is in this post
I always add two Tablespoons of chopped onion to the mix and am uncertain why I left it out the night I made this jalapeño cornbread.

I use yellow Aunt Jemima. Just follow the recipe. I have to double it because my skillet is so large.

This.
Crap, I hate it when I agree with you.
ETA: If someone is eating sweet cornbread they may as well have a piece of cake.
