I have a nasty sinus headache. When I get off of work in a few minutes I'm going to make 1, or maybe 3 of these.
1 shot bourbon
1 shot water
1 tsp of honey
1/4 lemon's juice
Put in microwave for 1 minute

Boil water in kettle
In a coffee mug:
1 shot bourbon or rum
1T lemon juice
1T honey
1 cinnamon stick or peppermint stick
Pour hot water into mug and stir. Breathe in steam until you can safely drink it

I like to peel off a couple thick strands from a lemon and orange. Drop these in a big coffee mug. Add about a teaspoon maybe more of honey. Pour over some hot but not boiling water. Let steep for about 4 minutes. Then add a few glutgs of bourbon or brandy. Works everytime

I’ve used Alton Brown’s Recipe
Obviously decrease the proportions unless you want to drink 2.5 cups of whiskey.

HOT TODDY
Serves 13
SOFTWARE
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1/2 cup demerara or turbinado sugar
1 quart water
2 1/2 cups Scotch whiskey
Nutmeg, freshly grated
PROCEDURE
Combine the lemon, sugar and water in a 2 to 3 quart slow cooker set to high. Cover and heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves completely, 20 to 30 minutes. Add the Scotch and stir to combine. Set the slow cooker to low and serve warm with lemon slices and nutmeg.

However much bourbon I feel like drinking, juice from 1 lemon, tablespoon or two honey, however much boiling water it takes to fill the glass/mug to the top.
