I'm partial to La Contea, because it's nice without being stuffy, has really good food and doesn't break the bank.

Those are all great spots but we prefer Palermo because it's really close to the house and we've never had a bad meal there.

Ive been to Palermo twice and both times have been great experiences. Great bread too. May be hard for 8 tho

Ninos is very good but extremely small
DiGiulios is decent but also extremely small
your best bet would be Gino's or La Contea which are both very good imo

Gino's is my favorite, several others are excellent, La Contea, Palermo, Nino's.

In this order:
Gino's (service is slacking though)
Di Giulio's (not upscale, just a simple, wonderful place)
Nino's
Palermo (it's just not great)
Little Village (shouldn't be upscale)
La Contea (is there a reason to go here?)
Pinetta's will always have my heart (also not upscale)

Palermo tops my list. I dont care if they add peas to their spaghetti carbonara, its too good.

They have a malbec that's like 19% alcohol.
Other than that... No

DiGulios is by far the best of them outside of Ninos (I’ve never gone to Ninos).
Gino’s has some good items but also gave me one of the worst dishes I’ve ever had in a restaurant.

Can't take the singer at La Contea. Nino's would be my pick, except as mentioned, it's small. DiGuilio's is another favorite.
Sorry to hear Pinetta's has closed, if true. Always a good change of pace for something different than standard Italian.
