When did Mexican food get so expensive

Is it just where I’m at? The average non fajita entree is 15 dollars. You want a fajita dish, easily 21 dollars. A beer is 6 bucks a pop and don’t even get me started on margaritas. I can literally eat bbq cheaper than this lol.

$1 taco Tuesdays here, for authentic street tacos. Kicks arse. Any other day of the week, there are dozen cheap places, run by people who may not understand my order, when spoken in English.

I thought about this yesterday when my 1 burrito, 1 taco and 1 margarita (double) tallied $33. A $40 lunch post tip. Sure I could have foregone the taco and the extra shot but what's the fun in that. I for one would rather be broke than skinny and sober.

Local Tex Mex near me recently...two entrees (taco salad and enchiladas plate),tea, water, ...$60 with the tip. Crazy. Not worth it. FJB

Well the mariachi band gots to be paid.. That shite is annoying.. I went to El Paso a couple of years ago (pre covid) and the margarita was $13.. Powder, water and some tequila...
