Have a friend visiting from Indiana and she wants crab legs…
All i know is crawfish, shrimp, crabs and oysters. Not big crab legs. Is there a season for this?? (I’m from the bayou)
Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Most grocery stores with seafood markets and other seafood markets carry the snow crab clusters if that's what you're looking for. King crab legs are delicious, but the price has gone up tremendously. Sam's usually has frozen bags of those.

Big crab legs come from Alaska. There’s many new crab restaurants in town with them. The legs are precooked and the restaurant just heats them and covers them in butter and seasoning.
If she wants Louisiana seafood, steer her away from crab legs. I’ve never had them but I’ve been told Don’s has them. That would be a local restaurant with Louisiana seafood and the Alaskan crab legs.

Is there a hole in the wall type of place we can go to eat them and drink beer?

You could go some place like the Fiery Crab for snow crab clusters, I suppose. They put a lot of seasoning and sauce on them. I've never been since that preparation doesn't appeal to me. It's not a hole in the wall, but a chain.
You could go pick up what you want at Tony's Seafood and eat and drink beer at home.
I agree with Sixth. Stick with seafood native to Louisiana rather than the other.

I've never been an know nothing about it, but Capital City Crawfish has snow crab legs on the menu. I would call first, though. I saw something on Facebook where they were advertising to sell the business in October.

I assume the crab she would get in Louisiana would be no different than what she’d get in Indiana since it’s shipped in to both states.

I usually never jump in like this as I know my place but we have some good crab legs and shrimp at Hooters. I regularly sell cases to people at cost for parties for regulars as they go over well and are cost effective

Went to the Francis tonight, they had a snow crab platter on the specials menu today

Snow crab or king crab?

No crab leg buffet in BR right now. Lauberge is starting them back up this upcoming weekend. It will be hell though. Line will likely be 1+ hour long.
Honestly, Hooters and Fiery Crab have been my go to places for a la carte snow crabs.
