We will be in Hoover next week for the baseball tournament. We have reservations at Gianmarcos for Monday night but need some rec's for the rest of the week. Would like to some local joints. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Thanks
Thanks

BBQ:
Saws Juke Joint
Martin’s
Downtown:
The Essential
East West
El Barrio (one of my favorites)
Roots and Revelry
Fancy:
La Fresca
Helen
Ovenbird
Automatic
Can’t go wrong with any of those. As for Hoover specifically? Not totally sure. There’s an Indian place on 150 near The Met that is supposedly incredible. Haven’t tried it though.
Blue Pacific is in Hoover, and it’s the best Thai in town. I’d venture down to Saigon Noodle House for my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. These are more “neighborhood” kind of places though. Shorts and a t shirt kind of thing.

All very good options.
I’ll add hot and hot, ovenbird, Rodney Scott’s bbq, soho social, jack browns burgers, bamboo on 2nd, oteys tavern, local 39 (small neighborhood bar in Homewood but really good wings)
I don’t know much about the Hoover area a lot of these places are either downtown area or Homewood/ mtn brook. I’d suggest looking their websites up to check out the menu to see what you would like. It’s good you have a reservation at gianmarcos already that’s one of my favorites

Big bad breakfast in homewood is a good spot.
Oteys is fun at night to listen to some music and drink some beers.
All of the spots mentioned above are solid. I didn't love Oven Bird but Helen is great.
Chez Fon Fon is another good spot.

There’s a Saw’s now in Hoover, so if you’re staying in Hoover, it’d be just as easy to eat at that location. Pretty much the same menu. It’s in the same shopping center as Best Buy.
I can’t think of anything all that special in Hoover other than a few ethnic places. Blue Pacific for Thai, Silver Coin for Indian, the taco truck on 31 near Krispy Kreme. On Tap outside the Galleria is decent bar food with a lot of draft beer. Their beer pricing is pretty weird though - $12 for a pint of Ghost In the Machibe for example. If you’re into the old school drugstore counter type place, Green Valley Drug on 31 has one with a decent burger. Archie’s right across the street also has a good burger.
A brewery just opened by the Met - Brock’s Gap Brewery. They have food trucks most nights, but I’d imagine it’ll be packed all next week. I think it’s walking distance from the stadium.

Good list and definitely second El Barrio if you get a choice (make sure to get the chorizo queso), though i'm not big on La Fresca. If you're feeling that type of food, just go to Bottega Cafe. You'll be paying the same amount and Bottega is just better. Bettola is another good option for Italian that is a little more casual.
Paramount is a solid option if you've got kids with you as it is part arcade bar and part sports bar. Food is pretty good.
Rojo is solid for lunch or dinner and not very pricey for a simpler and more casual option.
Chez Fon Fon is another great option for a fancier dinner or lunch.
Slim's Pizzeria is good as well.
These are all mostly downtown Bham or close to it. I don't venture out to Hoover very much, so can't help out with things around there.
Some breakfast spots around Bham:
Salem's Diner (true hole in the wall diner, but great food. Love their philly omelet wrap) They also have a great lunch.
The Original Pancake House (while not a Bham exclusive, it is just a great spot for breakfast).
Hero Donuts (also have a fantastic burger)

Great choice. One of my favorite spots. They usually have some great specials that the wife always gets, but some of the standard items that are some of our favorites:
Fiocchi appetizer:

Lasagna

Ribeye w/ mac n cheese and bacon brussels.

Spaghetti in Sunday Sauce
