If you are open to a local experience, pick a plate lunch place -- known in Alabama as a "meat and three".
Examples: City Cafe, Cottondale Southern Kitchen, Wright's, T-Town Cafe.

Oasis bar and grill in Cottondale

Burger: Jack Brown’s, or Mugshots if smash burgers aren’t your thing
Mexican: Azul Tequila is definitely worth the trip to Cottondale
Pizza: Pyros is a good build-your-own pizza place. Glory Bound has gyros and great pizza, but can be crowded since it’s right on the Strip

The rolling sausages (pull from the front of the warmer) and the beef and cheese sticks pair well with the Colombian dark roast coffee. 2 pumps hazelnut, 2 Splenda.
You’re welcome.

Southern Ale House is good for a burger and a beer

I second Chucks Fish and Nick's in the sticks.
Five isn't a bad spot, and neither are Innisfree and Moe's BBQ.
Mugshots has a solid burger.

The only place I can recall eating over there is Dreamland Ribs.

Was our favorite place when we lived in Marion 20 years ago. They had a pecan crusted catfish that was really nice. Tuscaloosa was where our Lowes was located, so we went there a lot.
