Moved here from Bama. Currently living in NOLA and can’t find shite that doesn’t seem like a TJ Fridays cliche version of Cajun food.
The Creole is great, but ready to finally take a Louisiana road trip and see the rest of the state. Recommend some spots below and I’ll work some in to the trip.

Go to Cajun Mike's behind the Roosevelt and get you a Cochon de Lait and a cup of gumbo with a cheap arse cold beer.
There's better, but it's a good start.

Can’t go wrong with the cajun shrimp at the Red Lobster on Bluebonnet.

Eta: stop and get some frozen boudin burritos for later and other goodies from Bourgeois meat market in Schriever

Harry Boutte gave you the correct answer. When I read the title of this thread, I thought of Poche’s.
A great market for stuffed and seasoned meats with a lunch counter of authentic cajun food. I particularly recommend the back strap stew. But there’s good pork and beef in brown gravy, and crawfish etouffe, or shrimp stew. All good.
As Cajun as Evangeline.
