Brother,

A box or a can? Blue Runner maybe? We need to grab dinner together soon.

I like Blue Runner much better than any box/package mix that I have tried.
Use some good sausage and maybe a little hot sauce to spice it up.

Avoid any box mix where the rice and beans cook together at the same time in the same pot. This is not good stuff.

Prefer Tony's over Zatarains. There are others I haven't tried.

A good smoked sausage or andouille can salvage almost the worst of simple RB&R mixes.

Give a can of Blue Runner’s a try. I’ve had many people swear by them.

Ain’t no lie, smoked pork sausage will fix any boxed or canned beans.

Sweat down a shallot, add in a pound of sliced smoked sausage, add a large can of blue runner and a small can or Trappeys light red kidney beans simmer about 20 minutes, serve over hot rice.

You could add this to Blue Runner or Camelia canned red beans.

Cans are much better than boxes.

A large can of Blue Runner + small can of Margaret Holmes or Trappey's Red beans and rice make a decent dish. Add smoked sausage and top with diced onion, hot sauce and accompanied by a bread of your choice and you have a pretty great meal in minutes.

Blue Runner - New Orleans Spicy.

Cook some bell peppers and smoked sausage down, and pour the beans in. Mix it up - Heavenly.
