And I'd rather pay $8 than go without. Husband usually gets some at Christmas from a vendor, so I don't have to pay that very often.

The pecan tree in the front of my parents property was my primary source of income before I was of working age. I learned my first lessons about supply and demand and market fluctuations.

My parents have 4 trees in their yard, and we have plenty this year. I already have 2 quart bags of cracked and cleaned in the freezer. Got plenty more to pick up.

Going to the highest bidder......

China. True story. I heard it from a processor last year.

They did great this year! We had enough rain to make then nice and moist.

I stashed the last pick up, but the next batch will get toasted right away. They have a bunch left to get, and the hurricane/cold front winds have knocked most of them down.

you can actually buy them whole for about $.50 a pound and have them cracked if you want to clean them yourself...you will then understand the $8 per pound...

The pecan market is sitting at about $2.00 lb right now. You need to up your prices or ship them all to me for $.75 lb

I would imagine the shipping would eat into profits, but if they are giving two bucks per pound in your area, I can damn sure load a truck up and drive it there myself....

can you give me contact info for someone who is buying for that price?....
