Why is uncured pepperoni a real thing?

I'm not outraged by uncured pepperoni or anything like that and to each their own, but I just just think that it tastes rancid. I paid 9 dollars for a souped up frozen pizza the other day and the uncured pepperoni effed it all up and I had buyers remorse after that.

You bought the pizza version of gas station sushi. Uncured or not you had a 50/50 chance of explosive diarrhea anyway.

That should be where your outrage is. You paid more for a frozen pizza than you could buy from some pizza places.

How do you know it's the lack of curing that's the issue, instead of it just being shite pepperoni?

It's more important to cure stuff like cancer before working on a cure for pepperoni

Yeah...all of that high-quality, "fresh never frozen" pizza available out there < $9

Uncured pepperoni is a real great thing IMO when the butcher knows what he's doing.
In Cincinnati Ohio there's an Italian Butcher shop and the butcher makes his own pepperoni. It is one of the finest sausages I've ever eaten (and I have loved Bavarian sausages made by the butchers there as well as family made pork sausages from the Piedmont of Virginia.)

Some Andouille made in the south of France has more horse meat in it than I can appreciate.

Isn’t that an oxymoron? I thought pepperoni, by its very nature, has to be cured.

Not if you’ve been doing low carb and it’s your first pizza in a year.
