what is the restaurant in the town where you live that you eat at/enjoy most often?
ours is mariner's inn in hammond.
its fun, hassle free, the food is way better than it needs to be, the beer is cold, the service is friendly and its priced right. we eat there more than any other place in hammond, by far

Weekend brunch/lunch menu at Longman & Eagle in Chicago. Fantastic top-to-bottom, including the bloody. We go almost weekly.

For beers…TBT, for weekday meals…Trapanis, for nice dinners…Thorny Oyster.

2nd vote for Mariners, me and the wife always sit at the two top by the wood stove inside. Cheese fries, black and Bleu Burger or the kickin chicken dipped in the wing sauce are the go to's.

In Corpus Christi where I currently reside I find myself frequenting a place called BKK Thai. It's a little more upscale than your typical Thai place and has a solid bar that makes good cocktails.
Now that you mention it I might have to go there for lunch today

I'm a simple man with simple pleasures. I love Rocky & Carlos and have never been disappointed with anything I've gotten there.
If in the Slidell area and hungry, I'm heading to Phil's Marina Cafe and if in the area of Hammond, I'll often stop at Middendorf's on the way home.

Don't go in thinking it's some mind blowing experience or the best hamburger in the area.

In Thibodaux... Cinclair for drinks, Cuvee for drinks and food. Most of the "hometown" eateries from when I was younger are no longer around.

Murphy's in Hammond.
Great meatballs and spaghetti, perfectly cooked steaks, poboys on Leidenheimer bread and great fried seafood. Phenomenal salad bar.
It's close to the house and has never let us down so we end up there most of the times.

Exxon station on the corner of Pinehaven and Northside Drive.
In addition to gas, they cook really good chicken, chicken tenders, especially livers, and are willing to sell you smoked ribs by the bone from a big pile they keep stacked on their hot food line.
It's nice to get a couple of fried chicken thighs and a few ribs, with a half dozen livers and two or three JoJo potatoes. Makes an excellent meal for my sweetie and me.
I usually get diet Dr Pepper, but their beer selection is excellent and always cold. As one final plus, they have the best random number generator in town for Lottery ticket purchase. I'm not a scratch off kind of guy, but lots of folks buy their scratch offs there too.
Sometimes I will finish my visit by buying a honey bun or two for dessert.
We were in Meridian the other day and it looked like the Vietnamese Shrimp and Oyster Pooy/catfish/chicken/oyster Poboy place at the gas station there, beside the BMW dealership has closed, as in out-of-business. Just about broke my heart.
I whined about it all the way back to Jackson. Sad to see a culinary legend pass away.

C’est Bon in Mermentau, La. Some of the best boiled seafood in the state hands down. Also has some of the best seafood gumbo around as well as extremely cold beer. 10/10 for me

Chicora Alley - Good beer selection, good food, good people and you never know what kind of surprise might be in store. Just a couple of weeks ago, Marcus King showed up unannounced and played a set out on the patio with his father, Marvin.

Probably Sailor's Return in Stuart, FL.
Good food
Outdoor seating
Fun atmosphere
Spectacular water views
We always get appetizers and drinks. Nothing fancy. I probably could have chosen a half dozen other places that are similar. We prefer having a view of the intercoastal or the ocean when we go out. Nothing like the smell of the sea when eating...
