Diverse characters are fine as long as they are appropriate to the setting. The first AC game had a middle eastern protagonist because that's where the game was set. Origins had an Egyptian protagonist because that's where the game was set. Having a black samurai in feudal Japan doesn't make any sense historically. Japan was a very closed off country to the rest of the world. If somehow a former African slave did wash up on their shore, there were no respectable samurai masters that would train him.
Considering there games are historical in nature, they need to be somewhat believable to reality.

There is always Sekiro for regular non westernized cucked game set in Japan that respects the culture.
Also, it’s pretty clever to for them to have the black character to distract everyone’s anger with while they continue to repeat their insane bullshite price strategy to charge $70 as the “standard” edition, that doesn’t even come with all the content. They think they’re really clever trying to entice people to pay $18 a month for their shitty game service.

Ubisoft games are always on sale 3 months after release. They also get discounted many times throughout any given year. If I ever get this, it will likely be for $20
