I bought this game finally last week. I am hoping to start this week. Pretty pumped though this is my first time jumping into this type of game...at least I think so.

Been waiting for this patch to drop. Initially was going to play during paternity leave which will be any week now. But decided I may not have the time I think I'll have and started my 3rd playthrough last night. Decided to go with dwarf going the path of the giant barbarian playthrough for the irony of giant dwarf that will just shove his way through battle

It's probably the best turn-based strategy game I can remember. The environments are sharp and lush, the cinematics are tight with excellent CGI and VOs, each class feels powerful and unique enough from one another and the depth of choices in what you can do in the story feels more like a sandbox than a linear game.
And then it can get all sorts of crazy when you mod it to allow your entire roster to join you.

This is what I keep hearing. I'm pretty nervous about picking a class. Usually I just stay safe and go for a big strong guy with some sort of healing or magic but not totally sure what that will be.
Do any of yall have any resources (youtube...written posts...etc) that can help me navigate building a character? Even simple tips that a newb won't know? I actually enjoy researching that stuff like I did with elden ring since that game doesn't tell you anything.

I did too.
it’s a little clunky to play on PS5 but the game is about building characters and roleplaying.
pressing R3 is super useful if you having issues targeting anything outside combat.

I hate that this patch dropped a week before Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 which I know is going to consume my non-work life when it comes out.
Even so I started a new run last night as a Halfling Swashbuckler Rogue because a halfling pirate seems fun.

Not I, but I really don't think you can go wrong unless you end up doing something like creating a warrior but put any extra points into Charisma.
